Alice Cooper announces 2018 ‘Paranormal’ tour dates

Alice Cooper has just announced the first 20 shows of his 2018 Paranormal tour.

Alice and the band kick things off on March 1st at Windsor, Ontario’s Colosseum at Caesar’s and — as of now — wrap things up on March 29th in Indianapolis, Indiana at the Murat Theatre.

The new leg finds Cooper touring behind his recently-released 27th album, Paranormal. Paranormal features a two-track reunion with the original Alice Cooper Band — Neal Smith, Dennis Dunaway, and Michael Bruce — along with contributions from U2’s Larry Mullen, Jr., Deep Purple’s Roger Glover, and ZZ Top’s Bill Gibbons.

Alice Cooper told us that the days of blowing an audience’s mind with stage theatrics have really changed over the decades: “I don’t think you can shock an audience anymore, really. I mean, CNN’s more shocking than anything Marilyn Manson or I can do, because (laughs), they used to hang me onstage, now you see people really getting hung on TV. So the idea is just to bombard the audience with vaudeville-type of burlesque comedy — but make sure the music is the basis of everything. I mean, you can’t put icing on the cake without the cake. So a 10-hour rehearsal is nine hours on the music, and one hour on the theatrics.”
