Mike Dapkus of Highland, IL became a Real Rock Hero in the Real Rock Army today!
Mike served for 4 years in the Army, as an Arabic Voice Interceptor. Served in S. Carolina, California, Texas, Arizona, Germany, Iraq, and Turkey
Mike says he is definitely not a hero in any way, but he did serve proudly along with so many others, and have been a KSHE listener since the mid 1980s
Mike likes that KSHE is still the same great rock & roll station it was when he started listening as a teenager
Mike says KSHE was easily the best station to listen to back in the 1980s, when a radio was all they had
Mike tunes in to KSHE just about every day, and he always hear something he hasn’t heard in a while, which gets him re-interested in that band again
Mike’s older sister was a diehard KSHE listener, so he started listening, got hooked, and still loves it today
Mike has been married to his amazing, beautiful, kind wife Michelle for 20 years. They have 3 boys … one at Mizzou, a senior in high school, and an 8th grader
Mike and his wife Michelle manage a home loan business at Scott AFB that focuses on providing VA loans to active duty and veterans
Mike’s #1 hobby is cars. He’s currently building a 1969 AMC Javelin to race
Mike loves to travel anywhere it’s warm
