About Lou:
Lou started listening to KSHE in 1977 when he was 10 years old!
Lou says at the time, his cousin Roy Garozzo was living with them and one day he came in his room and said, “Hey Louie, do you like KSHE 95?” and he said, “What’s KSHE 95?” and he said “It’s Real Rock Radio” and he slapped a KSHE bumper sticker on the desk in his bedroom and he has listened to KSHE ever since!
Lou likes that KSHE is an album oriented rock station. He says, “If you want to listen to good music, you have to listen to the entire album.” He also likes, Alice’s Restaurant, The 7th Day, and Partytown!
Lou is not exactly sure what year it was, but around 1990 he entered a KSHE contest to win a trip to St. Pete Florida for Cardinals spring training. Totinos Pizza sponsored the contest and the general idea was to do a play by play of a Cardinal game and mention certain sponsors within the audio clip. He won the contest and later found out it was because of one sound effect; in his play by play, the baseball hits Rob Buttery in the stomach and goes over the fence for a home run. To simulate the ball hitting him, he threw a rubber ball at an old wash tub and it made a loud thud. According to John Ulett, the sound of the ball hitting the wash tub brought the studio down with laughter!
KSHE songs that get Lou through the day:
Van Halen – Hot for Teacher, ZZ Top – A Fool For Your Stockings, Im Bad, I’m Nationwide, I Thank You, Led Zepplin – Whole Lotta Love, Jefferson Airplane – White Rabbit, AC/DC – Rock and Roll Ain’t Noise Pollution, The Jack, Jailbreak, Foghat – I Just Want To Make Love To You (Live), Pink Floyd – Another Brick in the Wall, Pt. 1 & 2, Happiest Days of Our Lives, Money, Montrose – Rock Candy, The Rolling Stones – Sympathy For The Devil
Congratulations to Lou Barrale from St. Louis, MO, our “Listener of the Day”!
