Name: Larry Fugel
From: St. Louis, MO
About Larry:
Larry spent 2 1/2 years in Southeast Asia (1 1/2 years in the Philippines and 1 year in Vietnam). He was a Security Policeman with the U.S. Air Force and attained the rank of Sergeant (E4).
Larry says since he spent 2 1/2 years straight overseas, he never heard of KSHE until he got home from Vietnam in 1969. A buddy of his, Tom Lehmkuhl, turned him on to KSHE when he told him what great music was on the FM dial and that they didn’t broadcast news of the Vietnam War. He has been a fan ever since
Larry loves the music KSHE plays and he says no one does it better. He lived in Columbia, MO for five years and he missed KSHE more than anything
Larry is married to Bea Stricker. He met her fifty years ago and after a couple of failed marriages, they tied the knot twenty two years ago
Larry retired from the St. Louis Police Fleet Services Division in 2009, after thirty four years.
Larry suffered a stroke in 2011 and he’s kinda limited in his activities. However, he does enjoy going out to eat and going to Fairmount Park Racetrack
