Katie Halloran of Lake Saint Louis, MO became a Real Rock Hero in the Real Rock Army today!

Katie was in the U.S. Army, Rank E-4 (Specialist). She was an Airborne cook at Ft. Benning, Ga. It made her proud to serve the infantry soldiers and rangers in training – these soldiers deserve our respect; as you might imagine, their training is grueling and they sacrifice so much for our protection

Katie has listened to KSHE since the late 80s. She’s a Real Rocker and she proudly served our great country

Katie says running with Metallica and Soundgarden on her old school headphones and tape player prepared her for Airborne School and specifically motivated her to get to the top of “Cardiac Hill.” Once she could do that, she knew she was ready

Katie loves Mark Klose! She listened to him daily on the Dave Glover show and was very happy to find him at home with KSHE and she catches the Vinyl Exam as she’s able

Katie also enjoys the Afternoon Drive with Lern, especially the Beavis & Butthead intro to Exit 90

Katie says many people in her family have served in the Army, including her dad, brother, and 23 year old son (who is currently serving in the NG and was deployed for six months in 2020)

Katie says her husband is the best man ever and his name is Walter. They have three sons ages 24, 23, and 16. They also have two dogs – a Boston Terrier named Joey and a goofy Beagle mix named Bowser

Katie is a server at Donatelli’s Bistro in Lake Saint Louis and she enjoys spending time with family, traveling, gardening, cooking and photography

Katie also enjoys live music and she’s looking forward to the time when Mötley Crüe and Def Leppard finally come back to STL

KSHE songs Katie wanted to hear today:

Soundgarden – Spoonman
Metallica – For Whom the Bell Tolls
