Name: Jeannie Smith

From: Alton, IL

Works at: Retired after 40 years!!!! Get to listen to music as loud as I want to all day!

About Jeannie:

Jeannie started listening to KSHE on day 1, November 7, 1967!

Jeannie has been a loyal KSHE fan for over 50 years! She was 13 when KSHE first came on the air in St. Louis!

Jeannie says she did a lot of babysitting in her neighborhood as a teenager, and loved to read and listen to the radio late at night instead of watching TV. She couldn’t wait for 11:30 pm on Saturday nights when KSHE would play an entire album side without interruption – something unheard of in those days of 2 1/2 minute songs! Her favorites were The Beatles “White Album” and Iron Butterflies’ “In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida!”

Jeannie likes that KSHE has consistently delivered the best in new and classic rock. It keeps her up-to-date with the latest artists and lets her enjoy music from years past. She says it makes her a cool grandma!

Jeannie is in school to become a substance abuse counselor/ social worker and wants to help people stay out of the hell that she has experienced!

Jeannie listens to music no matter what mood she is in and says only KSHE can play the music that she prefers!

Jeannie has been a longtime blood donor and has made some of her blood drive t-shirts into a quilt!

KSHE songs that get Jeannie through the day:

I Want You (She’s So Heavy) – The Beatles, Cocaine – Eric Clapton, Turn To Stone – ELO, (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction – The Rolling Stones, Jane – Jefferson Starship
