Gary Welty of O’Fallon, MO became a Real Rock Hero in the Real Rock Army today!

Gary is retired U.S. Army and was nominated by his sister

Gary joined in 1981 as a sophomore in High school. His first airplane ride took him to Ft. Benning, GA and on his second flight, he jumped out of the aircraft

Gary has been blown up, shot up, dragged down and brought down, but he never gave up on his fellow soldiers, nor his country

Gary’ sister say he has always been her hero

Gary has been listening to KSHE since high school and loves the fact that KSHE does things like this to help share the spotlight for the real hero’s in the armed services, and recognize those outstanding individuals in our community

Gary has a son and a daughter who have both served in the army also

Gary likes keeping busy. He loves to BBQ, yard sales, having friends and family over for get togethers

Gary loves dogs and his service dog, Bitty, helps him keep calm and also listens to KSHE
