Name: Dave Hemmer
From: Fairview Heights, IL
About Dave:
Dave has been proudly serving in the KSHE Real Rock Army since its inception in 1967. He battled fiercely against the then wanna be Rock station KADI, until he joined the U.S. Navy and retired as a Commander. Then he took his battle abroad, working for the Department of Defense, speaking it’s gospel to 84 different countries
Dave received the Brazilian Sea Service Medal and he has the honor of being the ONLY foreigner, and better yet, U.S. service member in the history of the world to win that prestigious award. It is an award given to sailors that have served aboard Brazilian ships for more than 500 days at sea
Dave is probably KSHE’s longest distance winner of the “Birthday Game,” calling and winning from Kaiserslautern, Germany
Dave listened religiously via the internet before retiring from his job in Germany
Dave has been a “rocker” almost since birth. He once fell out of his crib gyrating to the likes of Elvis and Jerry Lee Lewis. Since arriving back in St. Louis in July, he’s rarely missed a KSHE event
Dave loves everything about KSHE. He says the station has great jocks and he likes the spectrum of music played … always puts him in a good mood
Dave is happily married to the love on his life … Susan Hemmer
Dave enjoys bike riding, playing golf, fishing and messing with his kids … Reuben and Sofia Hemmer
