Name: Clayton Sorensen
From: Mascoutah, IL
About Clayton:
Clayton served in the U.S. Air Force for 21 years and was a Master Sergeant. He retired from Scott Air Force Base and his job was Vehicle And Vehicular Equipment Maintenance Craftsman
Clayton saved a young woman’s life many years ago and never got recognition because he wasn’t supposed to be off base at that time due to an upcoming base exercise. Coming back from his friend’s grandmother’s house at 1am in the morning in New Mexico, he saw a woman about 20 feet off the road laying down in the grass all contorted. Turns out she was hitchhiking and had been personally hurt by a truck driver. Luckily they came across her in time and got to her a hospital. Turns out she was the daughter of some Chief in the Air Force. The base never gave him and his friend any formal recognition due to them breaking the rules by being out of the area. Due to saving the lady’s life though, they looked the other way so all was good
Clayton just completed a life’s goal and made it into the Guinness Book of World Records for a group event down in Hot Springs, Arkansas for the most number of Indian motorcycles in a parade
Clayton grew up in the 80s and says 80s rock is in his soul. The very first song he can ever remember playing was Metal Health by Quiet Riot. One day in Sacramento, Quiet Riot was playing at a club and he got to meet the band and hang with them and it was his best day ever
Clayton is married to a lovely lady from Panama and they have 2 boys
Clayton left the military in 2013 and worked at a couple different jobs until he settled at CK Power where he handles warranty work for Kohler backup generators
Clayton just learned how to ride a motorcycle last year at the age of 45
Clayton thinks KSHE has some awesome employees, especially those that he met at the KSHE bike show – the friendliest people he’s ever come across
Clayton says KSHE is a huge vault of knowledge when it comes to rock and roll and he’s always learning something new
Clayton listens to the KSHE Morning Rock Show on his hour long commute into St. Louis in the morning and to Favazz on his way home in the evening
Clayton says KSHE turned him on to Steel Panther – awesome band and awesome show
Clayton says to go see all these bands while you still can, before they quit touring or pass on. He’s glad he got to see Quiet Riot before Kevin DuBrow passed. He says get out there, see the bands, and live life
