Name: Chad Fromme
From: Cheaspeake, VA
About Chad:
Chad has listened to KSHE as long as he can remember, around 1978-9, when he was around 5 years old
Chad can’t get KSHE locally because he’s in Southern Maryland. However, he says the KSHE app works awesome. He has the station on from the time he gets up to the time he walks in his office. He says it’s hard to listen throughout the day because of where he works, but if he’s listening to the radio, it’s through the app. He works in MD and commutes back to his family in VA on the weekends and the app is usually on in the truck for the four hour drive. He says the KSHE app keeps that home-sickness away and reminds him of working in the garage when he was growing up
Chad likes no repeats and says there is always great rock playing on KSHE
Chad one time accidentally dialed 911 trying to call the KSHE request line on a rotary phone back when he was a kid. The first 96 didn’t register but the 911 of 9-1111 did. The 911 operator answered and he tried to tell them it was a mistake and what he was trying to do, but the police showed up to the house anyway to make sure everything was good and his parents were having a party at the time
Chad remembers that sometimes he would be in the car with his mom, Teri Benwell, and an awesome song would be playing on KSHE when they would be pulling in the driveway. The volume would be up to 11, and she would wait until the song was over before she shut the car off
Chad is a Senior Chief Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy, currently stationed at NAS Patuxent River in Southern MD. He left St. Louis in 1994 and has been in the Navy ever since. He is soon retiring with 26 years of service
