Bob Donnelly of St. Louis, MO joined the Real Rock Army today!
Bob has been listening to KSHE since he heard the older kids tuned in back at the very beginning of “the radio station,” and probably began listening for himself in the early 70s as he hit his teens
Bob liked in the early days that jocks programmed for themselves, and each shift had its own personality
Bob says Ron and Joy in the Morning was a great morning drive experience, and he’ll always remember laughing hysterically during those shows
Bob also became a big fan of Mark Klose and John Ulett
Bob likes that he can stream KSHE wherever he goes. Back in the day, he had to survive on the occasional KSHE cassette a friend mailed to his dorm room to get that same taste of home
Bob has been married to a wonderful girl from Cleveland for 35 years. When they met, she was amazed that he knew all about “her” local favorite Michael Stanley Band, and he’s sure that didn’t hurt his chances with her. Thanks KSHE!
Bob has a 23 year-old musician son, and would LOVE to hear a track of his over the airwaves on KSHE one day
Bob was a member of the now-defunct Greater St. Louis Parachute Club, and in the 80s, they were hired every 4th of July to skydive into the VP Fair. Their ground crew vans had access to all areas, and once the air shows were over for the day, they’d just keep our vans parked on Memorial Drive by the Arch and blast KSHE while they waited for the fireworks to begin
KSHE songs Bob wanted to hear today:
Led Zeppelin – Over the Hills and Far Away
Derek and the Dominos – Layla
Mama’s Pride – Ole St. Lou
