Eddie Vedder, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Metallica, Green Day, and more

Eddie Vedder reunited with former Pearl Jam drummer Jack Irons on Friday night (March 17th) in Seattle, where Irons was opening for another one of his former bands, Red Hot Chili Peppers, at the Key Arena. Vedder surprised fans by joining Irons for a cover of Pink Floyd’s “Shine On You Crazy Diamond." (Consequence Of Sound)

Metallica's Hardwired...to Self-Destruct stays at number-two on the Billboard 200 this week. Last week, it jumped from number-14 to number-two because download codes for free albums -- which count as sales for chart purposes -- were given away with the purchase of tickets to most of their recently announced tour dates. Those register as album sales when they're redeemed.

An unreleased Green Day instrumental from the band's 2013 documentary Cuatro! has surfaced. Unofficially titled "That Just Happened," the instrumental seems to be recorded live in the studio -- but never mixed. It was apparently included in a bonus chapter of the documentary, which was released in September 2013. (Alternative Press)
