Mick Jagger denies hitting on a teenage Katy Perry

11/4/2013

Mick Jagger denies that he ever hit on Katy Perry. Last week, Perry, who was promoting her new hit album, Prism, chatted with Australian radio and recalled going out for dinner with the Rolling Stones frontman after recording vocals for his 2004 theme to Alfie, "Old Habits Dies Hard." Perry said, "I actually went to dinner with him one time and he hit on me one time when I was like 18. But that was a long time ago and since then he's been very kind and I got to sing 'Beast Of Burden 'on his stage on their tour."

Perry was then asked how one fends off one of the world's most notorious womanizers, to which Perry replied: "Well, you bring a friend and they do them. You sacrifice your friend."

Jagger's reps have since issued an official statement to ABC News, which reads: "Mick Jagger categorically denies that he has ever made a pass at Katy Perry. Perhaps she is confusing him with someone else."

Mick Jagger said a while back that his reputation as being a prowling playboy has always been more of a public perception than an actual reality: "There aren't any playboys anymore. They don't exist anymore. It's rather sad, really. They wrapped themselves around trees in badly driven sports cars (laughter) many, many years ago. And I've always been a very career-minded person, and any vague resemblance of my life to a playboy's is merely coincidental."
