RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS LEAD 2013 'COACHELLA' LINEUP

1/25/2013

The lineup for the 2013 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival has been unveiled, with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Phoenix, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Blur, the Stone Roses, The xx and the Postal Service tapped as headliners. The event will once again run on two weekends, from April 12th through the 14th and April 19th through the 21st, at the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio, California. Tickets go on sale next Tuesday (January 29th) at 10:00 a.m. PT.

Other acts confirmed for the show include Of Monsters And Men, Modest Mouse, Trent Reznor's How To Destroy Angels, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, The Airborne Toxic Event, Franz Ferdinand, Puscifer, Passion Pit, Vampire Weekend, Social Distortion, the Wu-Tang Clan, Grizzly Bear and Lou Reed.

Phoenix and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs are both planning to release new albums in April, just in time to promote them at the festival.

The Postal Service, an electronic side project of Death Cab For Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard, is playing its first show in several years.

Rumors that the Rolling Stones were going to be one of this year's headliners proved to be untrue.

Last year's festival was the first to take place on two weekends and featured appearances by the Black Keys, Radiohead, AWOLNation, Arctic Monkeys, Florence And The Machine, the Hives and many others.
