'CLARENCE CLEMONS DAY' MIGHT BE COMING SOON

1/4/2013

The resolution for an official "Clarence Clemons Day" has passed the New Jersey State Senate, according to The Asbury Park Press. The State Assembly needs to pass the resolution in order to make Clemons' birthday -- January 11th -- an officially recognizeed day. Should the Assembly pass the resolution, all that's left is for Governor Chris Christie -- and Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band -- die-hard to sign it and make it official. Clemons died on June 18th, 2011 at age 69 following complications from a massive stroke. Following his death, Governor Christie ordered that flags be flown at half mast in "The Big Man's" honor.

Out now is the new Bruce Springsteen biography by author Peter Ames Carlin, called Bruce. Carlin told us that losing Clemons was truly a personal body blow for Springsteen: "As he said so sadly and elegantly --- 'It was like losing the rain.' Y'know, that there was something so elemental about Clarence's presence in his life and his band that it was unfathomable, in a way, for him to imagine, a life without Clarence; though clearly, he also knew, that he had no choice but to reestablish his life, because Clarence couldn't be there anymore."
