LOTTERY WINNER WANTS TO USE MONEY TO REUNITE GUNS N' ROSES

8/16/2012

A British man who won the equivalent of $232 million in last Friday's (August 10th) EuroMillions lottery has said that he wants to use some of the money to reunite the original lineup of Guns N' Roses. According to Blabbermouth, 41-year-old music shop owner Adrian Bayford told The Sun when asked about how he would like to spend his winnings, "I think I would just have to get Guns N' Roses together - the original lineup, mind. I'm a real fan."

Bayford should probably be prepared for disappointment, since a reunion doesn't look like it will ever happen for the band. Even at the band's April induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, singer Axl Rose refused to attend and share the stage with his former bandmates.

Ex-guitarist Slash told CNN's Piers Morgan in May that money wasn't the issue, explaining, "I don't think it's a matter of that; it really isn't. I think you've got a situation where nobody involved wants to revisit ... and so I don't think there's a price tag that anybody's put in front of us that's going to make that work."

Guns N' Roses will launch its first-ever residency on Wednesday, October 31st when the band plays the first of 12 shows at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Guns guitarist DJ Ashba told us he's looking forward to the gigs: "It's great because I just moved there, so I don't really have to go nowhere, so that makes it really cool. But we love the Hard Rock and they've always been good to us, and it starts October 31st on Halloween, my favorite day of the year, and it goes to November 24th. It'll be a crazy drunkfest, for sure."

Tickets go on sale this Friday (August 17th) at the Hard Rock box office and all Ticketmaster locations, with prices starting at $45.

The shows will, of course, feature the current lineup of the band, of which singer Axl Rose is the only original member.
