Out Tuesday (August 14th) is Staind's new concert DVD and Blu-ray, titled Live From Mohegan Sun, which is the companion to a CD version of the package issued last month. The concert was recorded and filmed in high definition at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Montville, Connecticut on November 25, 2011, during Staind's initial bout of touring for its self-titled seventh album. The set includes fan favorites from throughout the group's career and features new drummer Sal Giancarelli.
Singer Aaron Lewis recently said that Staind will go on hiatus after finishing its upcoming touring commitments, but insisted that the band is not breaking up.
Lewis fended off break-up rumors last fall as well, after the recording process for the Staind album proved full of turmoil for the group. But he told us at the time that the members of Staind have never been the best of buddies to begin with: "We're business partners and we always have been. We're not friends that have known each other forever. We've known each other to start this band and, you know, when we go home from being on tour, I don't talk to anybody and they don't talk to me until it's time to do something and there's a need to talk to each other. It's a business; it always has been a business."
That self-titled album also completed Staind's deal with Atlantic Records and Lewis has said that the band will look at all its options when the time is right.
The singer will release his first full-length solo album, The Road, on September 11th.
Staind kicks off its stint alongside Godsmack, Shinedown and others on the Rockstar Energy Uproar Festival tour this Friday (August 17th) in Bonner Springs, Kansas.
