Peter Frampton tweeted that he was involved in a car accident on California's 101 Freeway on Tuesday (July 31st). Frampton posted: "Texting woman driver just ran into back of me while I was stationary in traffic 101 freeway. Can u say whiplash? People put the phones down! Back and neck not good. Going to ER after my flight today." Frampton, who kicks off his next string of dates tomorrow (August 3rd) Ontego, Minnesota reassured fans on Facebook that the scheduled gigs on his Grin & Bear It mini-tour will proceed as planned: "The show must go on!!! Don't worry I will Grin & Bear It!!"

Frampton, who now considered one of rock's true survivors and an elder statesmen of sorts, says that he's happy to be thought of a musician, rather than a pop star, these days: "I haven't really been zooming up the charts recently and, y'know, you wonder if people are still into what you do, but I haven't been on the front pages so, y'know, it's very nice. It's a great feeling -- a reassuring -- to know that people out there still do regard me as a player."
