Green Day has confirmed two additional North American dates on its upcoming tour, which will begin on March 28th in Rosemont, Illinois. The pair of new gigs will take place on April 16th at the Greek Theater in Berkeley, California and April 18th at the Los Angeles Sports Arena in Los Angeles. That brings the trio's total of North American shows to 13 so far, with a European tour launching in late May.
The shows are rescheduled from a early winter tour that was canceled in the wake of frontman Billie Joe Armstrong's meltdown at a Las Vegas festival in late September and his subsequent trip to rehab for an extended stay. The original tour dates were scrapped and Armstrong went into rehab just as the band was in the midst of releasing the first of three new albums, Uno!.
The next two albums, November's Dos! And December's Tre!, met with disappointing sales.
A documentary on the making of the three discs, called Cuatro!, will premiere next month at Austin's South By Southwest festival.
A second documentary called Broadway Idiot, about Armstrong's experience in bringing Green Day's "punk opera" American Idiot to the New York stage, will also debut at the festival.
