Sting has announced the initial dates for the 2013 North American leg of his "Back To Bass" tour. Sting will kick things off on May 30th in Kelowna, British Columbia and, as of now, will wrap things up on June 26th, in St. John's Newfoundland. Sting, who'll be playing bass for the road trek, will be joined by longtime guitarist Dominic Miller, E Street Band co-founding keyboardist David Sancious, drummer Vinnie Colaiuta, electric fiddler Peter Tickell, and vocalist Jo Lawry. More dates will be announced in the coming weeks.
Although Sting has nothing to prove after such a monumental career, he admits that the stage is still a huge part of his job: "Y'know, I've been for touring most of my life, coming to places -- most of them are really happy to see you (laughs), which is an interesting drug to put in your vein every night -- hard to give up. I think I'm getting better as an artist, as a bandleader, as a songwriter; so I'll just keep doing that until I'm too old and stupid to do it any more."
