PETER FRAMPTON 'COMES ALIVE' AGAIN ON NEW CD & DVD

11/13/2012

Out today (November 13th) is Peter Frampton's new DVD and Blu-ray FCA 35 Tour: An Evening With Peter Frampton and it's companion triple CD set, Best Of FCA! 35 Tour. The DVD features footage taped at New York City's Beacon Theater and Milwaukee's Pabst Theater, with Frampton personally going through the tour's performances for the hottest versions of all the songs for the CD.

As well as performing the 1976 Frampton Comes Alive! album in it's entirety, the new set dips into his recent works -- including the 2006 Grammy Award winning instrumental collection, Fingerprints, his most recent album, 2010's Thank You Mr. Churchill -- along with an emotional take on the Beatles' "While My Guitar Gently Weeps," an instrumental cover of Soundgarden's Black Hole Sun," and rousing renditions of Humble Pie's "Four Day Creep" and "I Don't Need No Doctor."

At the kickoff of the tour, Frampton was alternating between playing the newer material first and opening with Frampton Comes Alive! We asked him why he very quickly gave up on closing the shows with Come Alive!: "The reason that we stayed with Comes Alive! first is that we tried 'round the other way and people were restless. So, it was better to give them cake first. Maybe it was 'round the other way; when we did the second set first, maybe we were giving them desert first and they wanted the main course. And I found out that I much preferred to do Comes Alive!, have my captive audience there and then bet on the fact that they'll stay for the second set and that's what they did."

The tracklisting to Peter Frampton's Best Of FCA! 35 Tour is: "Somethin's Happenin,'" "Doobie Wah," "Lines On My Face," "Show Me The Way," "It's A Plain Shame," "Wind Of Change," "Just The Time Of Year," "Penny For Your Thoughts," "All I Wanna Be (Is By Your Side)," "Baby, I Love Your Way," "I Wanna Go To The Sun," "Nowhere's Too Far (For My Baby)," "(I'll Give You) Money," "Do You Feel Like I Do," "Shine On," "Jumpin Jack Flash," "While My Guitar Gently Weeps,' 'Asleep At The Wheel," "Restraint," "Float,' "Boot It Up," "Double Nickels," "Vaudeville Nanna And The Banjolele," "Suite Liberte," "All I Wanna Be (Is By Your Side)," "Road To The Sun," 'I Don't Need No Doctor," "Black Hole Sun," "Four Day Creep," and "Off The Hook."
