Green Day have announced that they're pulling out of their October 27 performance at the Voodoo Music Experience, a three day music festival to be held in New Orleans. The band issued an official statement, in which drummer Tré Cool said: “Canceling shows is something we rarely do...We never want to let our fans down, and we are grateful for all of you being understanding during this time.”
Green Day singer and guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong recently checked himself in to rehab after an on-stage meltdown at the Las Vegas iHeartRadio Festival, during which he smashed what looked to be his new signature Gibson guitar to bits, the Billie Joe Armstrong Les Paul Junior Double Cut. We hope Billie has a spare guitar or two at home.
In related news, Green Day's new album ¡Uno! debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 last week, selling 139,000 copies, coming in second to the eagerly awaited new release from Mumford & Sons, Babel.
