FOO FIGHTERS PLAY AT LAUNCH FOR iPHONE 5

9/14/2012

Foo Fighters played at the launch event for Apple's new iPhone 5 on Wednesday (September 12th) in San Francisco, according to Loudwire. Following the introduction and demonstration of the new phone, Apple CEO Tim Cook brought Dave Grohl and his boys onstage for an acoustic performance. Grohl told the audience, "One of the incredible things about being here is that you're meeting people who are shaping our future, and just like Little Richard, Tom Petty, Jimmy Page, these are just people who took it upon themselves to change our future."

Apple also used the event to show off a redesigned iTunes, as well as new iPod Nano and Touch devices.

Foo Fighters also recently played at the Democratic National Convention, and will next appear on September 21st at the Music Midtown Festival in Atlanta, the DeLuna Festival in Pensacola, Florida on September 22nd and New York City's Global Festival on September 29th.

Meanwhile, Grohl has also posted several more clips from his Sound City documentary online, including interviews with Metallica's Lars Ulrich, Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor and producer Rick Rubin. The film chronicles the history of Sound City Studios in Los Angeles, where classic albums ranging from Fleetwood Mac's Rumours to Nirvana's Nevermind were recorded.
