Aerosmith was forced to postpone its Tuesday night (July 3rd) show at Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow, Virginia after singer Steven Tyler was ordered by doctors to refrain from performing and rest his voice. There was no word at press time whether any of the band's other upcoming shows would be affected, with the band's next scheduled date to take place Thursday night (July 5th) in Detroit. The Bristow gig has already been rescheduled for August 12th.
Aerosmith is touring this summer in advance of the release of its new studio album, Music From Another Dimension.
The arrival of the record, the band's first set of all-new material in 11 years, was recently pushed back from August 28th to November 6th.
Tyler recently said in an interview that the band delayed the album's release in order to avoid competing with several other records coming out in late summer.
Aerosmith began work on Music From Another Dimension last year, with the band laying down music tracks while Tyler made his debut as a judge on American Idol.
