KSHE 95 - REAL ROCK RADIO
KMRS Weekend Update: December 5th, 2016
Stayed home all weekend doing house cleaning. Baby sat our friends Josh and Julie's children Saturday night and Sunday morning. Fun kids. Amelia, Liam and Lucas. Miss having little ones in the house.
After work I went home to get my house and food ready for the annual ‘Friendsmas’ party that my friends and I host. This year my house was the designated place because half of my friends haven’t seen my new house, yet. We had about 25 people at my house and had a spectacular time! I got completely sh*tfaced because I was drinking vodka and doing shots of tequila with everyone. Luckily, I was at home. I stayed up until 2:35a and it was glorious….until the next day.
I woke up in the 7a hour completely sick. I was so hungover and I threw up in 3 out of my 4 bathrooms – my husband said, ‘I’ve never heard someone throw up that much in my entire life.’ I didn’t get out of bed until around 2p and even then, I felt like complete crap. I had to get it together though because my friends, Clare and Brandon had a fundraiser trivia night for their friend Matt and I wanted to participate. It was at the Shiloh Eagles and they raised over $3,000 for Matt to help him while he waits on a liver transplant. It was a really cool event and I am so proud of Clare and Brandon for their loving hearts and organization. I bought an XL Imo’s Pizza with a small salad to get me through sitting upright and being able to think…our table won 3rd place! I went home and immediately crashed after laughing my ass off at SNL.
I slept in and finally felt alive once getting around moving. It was a dreary, cold day so I lounged around the house watching CBS Sunday Morning and I have to say, as much as I loved Charles Osgood, Jane Pauley is doing a wonderful job! I did some normal Sunday stuff and then announced with Jamie Allman at Trans-Siberian Orchestra and presented a check to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital for $19,258.00 – every ticket to TSO had a dollar go toward this fund, it was really impressive!
Friday: I picked up my new Star Wars keepsake ornaments from Hallmark. Nothing says Merry Christmas like Death Troopers! Then I worked the Cardinal's Christmas party at Scottrade. Finished off the evening with Daddy/Daughter Date Night at the Fox to see Annie.
Saturday: I produced and hosted the Entertainment Rundown on our sister station with the always lovely Rachel before heading back to Scottrade to rock the house for the Blues. As it was an early game, I had plenty of time after to venture South of the city to enjoy the holiday hospitality at Moose and Lisa's 23rd annual Christmas party sporting all things Scottish...including Scotch, Scottish whisky and shots from the bar that had everyone seeing plaid.
Sunday: We made it out of bed in time to attend the Second Sunday in Advent Mass where the lights kept going out because not enough people contributed their "fair share" to pay the electric bill this past week! Then we attend the annual Misericordia Society Christmas Party at Tapawingo where my wife and I received a major award! It was not “fra-gee-lay,” but it is Italian! My great great grandparents were founding members of this organization on the Hill and it was truly an honor to be recognized by them. I appreciate all my Grandparents’ best friends who were there to see it. And to my family members who still appreciate my grandparents’ hard work for the group. Also, congratulations to Marianne Peri-Sack for nearly two decades serving the Society as President. Next stop was LoRusso's Cucina where Rich and Terri ensure a good time is always had by all!
