Lately I have been in a funk. I know this because there’s a ton of great albums that have come out and I have been FORCING myself to care about them enough to listen. This is very unlike me, and I have been questioning what the hell my problem is. Well I figured it out.

I have been so consumed in coverage of our economic situation that I have beaten myself to the pit of my being. I am constantly thinking, “I’m not doing enough.” Do you ever feel that way, too? I try to stay involved and up to date on how bad it is out in the world, and I donate my money, time and effort to trying to keep people involved in organizations that have an agenda to make the world a better place. Physically, I want to do more. This is the first step.

What’s interesting about the USA – some of us feel like when we vote, our voice doesn’t matter…and that’s sort of true…I am not going to get into THAT whole conversation, but I will say, the one cool thing, we have sole control over, is how we help and donate our time, effort and funds to a particular case. This can be on any level.

Constantly, I am humbled by the level of humility and donations that musicians and celebrities make to organizations around the world. I am also so pleased that our crowds of KSHE listeners come out and donate their blood, money and time to our annual charity and fundraising events like blood drives, request-a-thons, community fundraisers, etc. That is so cool! I also know, that we are in this together and I mean that, it’s not just a cop-out. When our economic situation sucks, we don’t donate as much and if you do, then you are a saint, but overall once our world starts to slip, we follow because that’s what’s natural to do when times are tough. (and this isn’t horrible, but I want to remind all of us, to continue to find ways to support any organization you feel strongly about, or obligated to.) WE could all be on the opposite end one day. I hope not, but I am a realist and anything can happen.

In case you need some charity inspiration, or if you are just looking to help your favorite rock star, I have made it easy for you. Below are some KSHE artists that I picked from because of the causes they support and how cool they are!  (also, there will be some that are left out – I URGE you to post a comment with any of the ones I missed with the link to their charity!)

I appreciate you and all you do for this gorgeous world we rock out in – and I want to keep it going for a long time! Share this link above to get people in the know. Together, we can make the world a better place for everyone!

Karma for karma – pass it on, do something good!

Xx Lern
