Europe, don't be afraid to go!

I just visited London, Paris and Rome and it was the trip of a lifetime. Don’t be scared to go!!
I won’t bore you with details but safe to say, I did all the touristy things that one should do. And of course, I ate like a king everywhere I went. I mean, when in Rome, (literally) right?
I’d like to share with you some highlights and dispel any negative rumors about these three world class cities. Here we go:
1) London, do it all. I did the London Tower, London Eye, Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace. Eat Indian food… there are many to choose from.
2) Paris, Notre Dame, Sacre Coeur and Jim Morrison’s grave were amazing. Perhaps the best food on the planet. (Sorry Italia) And no communication issues at all. The French were very friendly. Don’t be fooled by the ole, “You have to try to speak their language,” thing.
3) Rome, what can you say about this historic city. The Coliseum, The Vatican and St. Peter’s were the highlights. And, we were fortunate enough to see the Pope speak in St. Peter’s Square. Won’t forget that one. The food? As good as I thought it would be and more. And no communication issues here either.
To elaborate on the language issue, most countries require their children to learn English because it’s the international language of business. Some speak it better than others but just about everyone speaks it well enough.
We were gone for 10 days and maybe only took 4 taxis. We used each city’s subway system. London and Paris’ were great. Rome’s was a bit older.
Prepare to walk. I mean a lot. It’s the only way you won’t gain a ton of weight on a trip like this. I took plenty of food porn pics and my friends were commenting that they were gaining weight just by looking at them. For the record, I gained 4.4 lbs and I’ve already lost it.
Be friendly and don’t be an a-hole to anyone.
Be aware of your environment. Heard a lot about pick pockets so just be careful and hold on to your crap when it tight quarters.
Much of our heritage comes from these three countries. Soak it all in. Eat, drink, walk and get lost. You won’t regret it.
