11/4/2009

A celebrity photographer reportedly dropped dead shortly after Lady Gaga walked the red carpet at Monday (November 2nd) night's ACE Awards in New York City. Pdnonline.com reported that A.J. Sokalner collapsed just minutes after the singer arrived at the event, where she donned another strange outfit -- this time featuring a face veil and underwear.

The website reported that after he fell, an ambulance came and rushed Sokalner to Bellevue hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Sokalner was one of about 25 photographers working the rope line. He was in his late 50s and lived in Manhattan.

Philip Vaughan, the owner of ACE Pictures, said, "He was very well liked, he was very well respected. He was a real photographer and he did it because he loved it."

In other Gaga news, CocoPerez.com reports that the singer -- along with Cyndi Lauper -- has been named the newest face for the MAC AIDS Fund. Lady Gaga will be featured in the newest campaign called "From Our Lips" that is slated to launch on February 25th. The two new products include Viva Glam GaGa Lipstick and Viva Glam Cyndi Lipstick, which will hit shelves on March 18th in the U.S. Perez reports that 100 percent of the proceeds from the $14 lipstick will be donated to the MAC AIDS Fund.
